This is the classes page for shivanata sessions. If you’re not in Southern England, check out my Skype sessions instead. For information on the dance that is the brain-training & pattern-movement meditation of Shivanata, take a look at my product review, and find out how I got started.
Shivanata: a form of pattern-shifting dance that re-wires your brain in order to make new connections and change your habits.
Classes: I currently run individual and pair classes, though am available for workshops and group classes; either as a one-off introduction or on a more regular basis. Please email me for details or check out my Skype options.

Current Classes and Events
Due to my Skype sessions replacing previous in-person classes and moving; my in-person classes are now available by request: email me with the dates which best suit you, or of your event and I’ll see what I can do to run a class for you!
You Need to Know
Let’s make three things clear about all my classes:
1. You do not need to know anything about Shivanata to join in. All my classes are suitable for beginners and high-level practitioners. It is, however, advised that you grab the DVD if you want to get the full benefit out of attending regular sessions. [affiliate link]
2. Please bring a notepad, a pen, some water and wear comfortable clothing [the practise is accessible in loose trousers, though yoga/jogging bottoms are often best – you can always change in the restroom].
3. All beginner classes include worksheets to help you get to grips with the positions in your own learning style. Replacements can be emailed as PDFs if needed.
The Basic Session
What: A two-hour session of Shivanata; suitable for people who’ve never heard of the practise up to high-level practitioners. We cover the basics and then step it up a notch. All classes are somewhat student-led: we will focus on what you wish to work on and spend as much time as you wish on each segment. Generally I cover levels 1-3, for those who are new to the practise; but I can teach up to level 5 if you’re more experienced and wish to join us.
Structure: Introductions, how it works, main 8 arm movements, peeks at higher levels, drawing, demonstrations, 8 leg positions, passive practise, finding the sub-levels, group exercises & how to keep your practise fun.
What: A three-week course, consisting of three 90-minute sessions of Shivanata; suitable for people just starting out with the practise up to high-level practitioners; though the introduction session is best for absolute beginners.
Structure: Introductions, how it works, first 12 moves, peeks at higher levels, drawing, demonstrations, practise, paired exercises, how to keep your practise fun, finding sub-levels, methods of mixing it up, how to challenge yourself, practising with others, best results, enhancing the practise, integration, group-work & discussion.
When: whenever suits us both
Time: a 120-minute slot to ensure a prompt start/end with breathing space each side.
